ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards

Launched in 1994, the ISAF World Sailor of the Year Awards are recognized as the pinnacle award a sailor can receive in recognition of his/her outstanding achievements by the world of sailing.

The ISAF World Sailor of the Year Awards Presentation is the time when the outstanding achievements of sailors around the world are honoured by the world of sailing.

Nominations may be made by anyone. A shortlist is then determined from all the sailors nominated and these select few become 'the Nominees'. It is then over to the ISAF Member National Authorities to vote for the winners.

In 2006, at the ceremony which took place in Helsinki, Finland, Paige RAILEY (USA) was named as the female winner and Mike SANDERSON (NZL) the male winner.

The 2007 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards will take place in Estoril, Portugal on Tuesday 6 November.
