2007 ISAF Sailing World Championships Venue
Held as a single event, the 2007 ISAF Sailing World Championships combines eleven OlympicClass World Championships at the same time in one venue: 
- 1000 entries, 1500 competitors, 70 nations. - Olympic Qualification - 75% of the Olympic Sailors will be selected in Cascais - The most significant World Championship for the Olympic classes. - 2007 will also mark the occasion of the ISAF Centenary, celebrating 100 years since ISAF, or the then IYRU, was formally created. - The venue will extend from the Marina, around the Cascais Fort, the Yacht Club and finally the Beach which is located in front of the Town Hall. On-shore facilities will include: - 8 boat-park areas - Each area will have water, electrical power and rubbish containers. - The Marina and the Club are well equipped with toilet and shower facilities, reducing the need for temporary ones. - Storage space for the teams - Shipping Containers and Trailers will be parked within 2 Kms from the Venue.
Up to 8 race courses, over 3 major race areas, can be set dependant upon weather conditions, and the needs of the race calendar. The month of July is the most favorable not only in terms of weather and wind conditions, but also will allow enjoying the full tourism potential of the region.
