Men's & Women's Windsurfer - Neil Pryde RS:X

Following a series of evaluation events in Cadiz, ESP, Torbole, ITA, Hayling Island, GBR and Queen Mary Reservoir, GBR, the ISAF Olympic Windsurfing Equipment Evaluation team chose the NeilPryde RS:X as their recommendation for the windsurfing equipment to be used at the 2008 Olympic Sailing Competition.

The recommendation was accepted by Council at the 2004 ISAF Annual Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Production of the RS:X commenced in April 2005 with the first boards available on the market from June 2005. The inaugural event for the class took place in Cadiz, Spain from 1-2 October 2005.

The RS:X was first included in the ISAF World Sailing Rankings on 1 January 2006 and the equipment was used at the 2006 ISAF World Sailing Games on Lake Neusiedl, Austria. The inagural world championships for men and women took place in September 2006 in Torbole, Italy.
