Scheidt Wins Laser, Kristine Roug Wins Europe, Russia and Great Britain Move into Soling Match Race Semi-Finals

Robert Scheidt of Brazil has won the Gold Medal in the Laser Class. Silver goes to Ben Ainslie of Great Britain, Bronze to Peer Moberg of Norway. In the final race both Scheidt and Ainslie were black flagged and DSQ for the final race, but had enough points and low throwout scores to keep their places.

Denmark's Kristine Roug has won the Gold in the Europe Class, Silver goes to Margriet Matthijss of the Netherlands, with the Bronze going to Courtney Becker-Dey of the USA.

Russia defeated Canada 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the Match Racing today. Great Britain defeated Denmark 3-2.

    Coming Up Tomorrow

    The final race for the Men's and Women's 470 classes will be held starting at 1:00 PM on Charlie Course. Men will sail first. The Soling Semi Finals start at 1:00 PM on Delta. Great Britain sails against Germany, USA sails against Russia. Follow the results mark by mark in our RESULTS section.
