IYRU Olympic Update

IYRU's Nightly Report from Savannah -- Friday July 26

Tomorrow's Weather Forecast -- Tide Chart

Weather a bit more cooperative today

In an effort to make up for lost ground, race officials moved the official start time back an hour today to 12:00. Unfortunately, light winds and the time delayed the start of the earliest races by 25 minutes, some races didn't get going until 1:30. All ten classes completed 2 races today, with the last races for the 470 and Mistral classes finishing at 7:30. Long day on the water for these sailors, as it will take nearly 2 hours to get everyone home.

Racing tomorrow will start at 12 PM.

Total of races to date, and the leader (unofficial, pending protests) in each are:
Laser: 8 - Great Britain, 470 Men: 4 - Ukraine, 470 Women: 4 - USA, Europe: 8 - Denmark, Finn: 7 - Poland, Mistral Men: 7 - Greece, Mistral Women: 7 - Hong Kong, Soling: 5 - Germany and USA in a tie, Star: 7 - Australia, Tornado: 4 - Australia and Spain in a tie
