AN ARTISTIC TRIBUTE TO THE RINGS

The High Museum, Atlanta's superb fine arts gallery where the reception following the opening ceremony of the 105th IOC Session is to be held, is preparing the most ambitious exhibition in its history for the Olympic Arts Festival. This historic show entitled "the rings: five passions in world art" will include a hundred works from all parts of the globe covering 6,000 years of history. The five themes chosen by J. Carter Brown, the former Director of the National Gallery in Washington, will cover the universal human emotions of love, worry, respect, triumph and joy. The choice of works will be unveiled shortly. In the run-up to the preview, the Museum will be offering a series of lectures on each of these themes and their representation .
