6. Laser
6.1 Lasers will be issued by a draw at 11:00 on 8 July.
6.2 ACOG will supply competition Lasers complete with:
- hull,
- centerboard,
- rudder,
- mast,
- boom and
- sail complete with three letter country code.
- All the Lasers will be supplied with all equipment to a top racing specification which will include:
- padded toestrap,
- mainsheet,
- outhaul,
- downhaul,
- vang Ñ vang block, vang swivel,
- traveller,
- clew tie down,
- rudder pull down,
- centerboard shockcord retention line,
- mainsheet ratchet block and spring,
- mainsheet side cleats,
- centerboard drilled for a rope handle,
- tiller and extension, and
- towline.
Note: Ropes, traveller block, boom vang blocks, mainsheet block and spring will be issued only on request at site.
6.3 No alterations may be made to any portion of the boat, its equipment, spars, or fittings, without the written approval of the IYRU Measurement Office. Competitors shall not remove any fitting including the bailer even if subsequently replaced. As an exception to the above:
The competitors may use their own:
- tiller extension,
- vang blocks and swivel,
- wind indicators and sail tell tales Ñ provided they do not pierce or mark the hull, spars or sail,
- centerboard rope handle,
- drink bottle holder Ñ provided they do not pierce or mark the hull, spars or sail.
Competitors may adjust the centerboard friction pad and use adhesive tape according to the class rules. The mainsheet and control lines may be shortened.
